Client: Design Exercise (School Project)

The brief for this project was to find a subculture that was not very prominent in the society and find a way to promote it. This project was based on Gothic subculture which is a contemporary subculture and is not known in many countries. The concept for this project was derived from the famous series, The Addams family. Gothic fashion sense was perceived by the world as ruined fashion and beauty. This project aimed to show that Gothic fashion could be stylish and beautiful. DARK CLOSET - Goth Fashion Boutique, specializes in clothes for Gothic women. 

The Fashion Catalog consists of a layout showing contemporary design. As the Gothic subculture is considered to be contemporary, the design style chosen was the same.  Every page in the catalog consists of a different layout. Goths are mostly associate with a dark attire and hence the monochrome style was adapted for this project. This project also tries to create a sense of mystery, suspense, and terror which are all features of Gothic literature.
